Context

Why it matters

A landing page has one job. Most fail it by trying to do four. The pattern is predictable: a nav bar with twelve links, three competing CTAs pointing to different destinations, a seven-field form, and a headline that describes the company instead of the visitor's problem. Each of those is individually defensible and collectively fatal. This audit measures the distraction ratio directly (how many exits you offer versus how many conversions) alongside the mechanical friction points. The fixes are usually subtraction, not addition, which makes them the cheapest performance gains available to you.

Methodology

Methodology

01

Paste any public URL

We fetch the page the way a browser and crawler would, no login walls, no probing.

02

Collect signals once

HTML, headers, robots/sitemap, and optional Lighthouse lab data feed every tool from one pass.

03

Score with published weights

Each check has a fixed weight that sums to 100. N/A checks leave the denominator so empty pages aren’t unfairly punished.

FAQs

Free Landing Page Audit FAQs

What counts as a landing page?

Any page with a single conversion goal. It works on homepages too, though homepages legitimately carry more nav links.

How is this different from the Conversion Rate Audit?

This focuses on page design and message. Conversion Rate Audit weights the funnel mechanics, tracking and speed-to-conversion more heavily.

Does it test my page against real users?

No, it's an automated heuristic audit against established conversion patterns. It won't replace user testing, it tells you what to fix before you spend money on testing.

Why does it flag my nav bar?

Nav links are exits. On a page with one goal, every extra link is a competing option. It's flagged, not condemned, you decide.

Does it work on pages behind a login?

No, the page must be publicly accessible.

Can it check my ad landing pages?

Yes, and message match between ad and page is exactly what check LP-13 measures.
