This free speed test measures Core Web Vitals (LCP, INP and CLS) on both mobile and desktop, plus TTFB, render-blocking resources, image optimization, compression and caching. Mobile is weighted at 60% because that’s what Google indexes. You get a 0–100 score and a ranked list of what to fix.

Why it matters
Speed tools are everywhere and most of them hand you a number without telling you what it’s made of. This one shows every check, its weight and its threshold, so the score is auditable. Mobile carries 60% of the weight because Google indexes mobile-first, and because your buyers are largely on phones on imperfect connections. One thing worth knowing: our score will sometimes differ from PageSpeed Insights. That’s intentional: we weight TTFB and caching more heavily than Google’s composite does, because in agency practice those are the fixes that hold up. Where the two differ, the report says so and explains why.
Methodology
Paste any public URL
We fetch the page the way a browser and crawler would, no login walls, no probing.
Collect signals once
HTML, headers, robots/sitemap, and optional Lighthouse lab data feed every tool from one pass.
Score with published weights
Each check has a fixed weight that sums to 100. N/A checks leave the denominator so empty pages aren’t unfairly punished.

Free Website Speed Test FAQs
Why does my score differ from PageSpeed Insights?
Different weighting. We weight TTFB and caching more heavily. The report shows both perspectives.
What are Core Web Vitals?
LCP (load), INP (responsiveness), CLS (visual stability). Google’s three user-experience metrics, used as a ranking signal.
Is this lab data or real users?
Primarily lab data via Lighthouse. Where field data from real Chrome users exists for your URL, we show it alongside.
Why is mobile weighted higher?
Google indexes mobile-first, and mobile conditions are where sites actually fail.
My score varies between runs.
Lab data has natural variance. We bucket metrics against Google’s thresholds before scoring so our score stays stable when the raw numbers wobble.
Does speed actually affect rankings?
It’s a confirmed but modest signal. The larger effect is on conversion: slow pages lose people before they ever convert.
